Grounding and Centering Techniques
Grounding/centering techniques enable us to refocus and be present in the moment, often reducing stress or anxiety. For those moments when we want to remind ourselves to simply be and breathe…
Try the 5-4-3-2-1 method
Use your senses to list things you notice around you. For example, you may start by listing:
five things you hear
four things you see
three things you can touch from where you’re sitting
two things you can smell
one thing you can taste
Become aware of the little things you might not always pay attention to, such as the color of the colors in the area around you or the background sounds of your environment.

Hold Space & Focus
Select an item in your office or home: something you find motivating or attractive looking. Hold the object in your hand, completely focusing on it. Consider these questions? How does it feel in your hand(s)? What is the shape? Does it have a pattern? Does it cast a shadow? How do you feel when you are holding the object? What other questions do you have about the object? This exercise is easily accomplished anywhere. If you have a stressful scenario approaching consider holding a favorite object in your pocket as a reminder of its calming effect

Confidence is a core fundamental in how we engage with our people and environment(s). When our confidence is strong, we are on top of the world, feeling like we are able to accomplish anything. When are confidence is waning, it also impacts us. The good news is we are able to create confidence, because confidence is a skill set and confidence is contagious. I agree with researcher, Brené Brown, that vulnerability is a pathway to courage. And courage is a pre-requisite for building confidence.
